This programme traces a journey through solitude, song, and survival. Bach’s radiant E Major Partita opens with brilliance and poise. American voices emerge in Copland’s beloved folk settings — simple, tender, and deeply human. Kelly-Marie Murphy’s Give Me Phoenix Wings To Fly rises from devastation toward renewal, and Shostakovich’s Piano Quintet closes the evening with brooding intensity, razor-sharp wit, and ultimately, hard-won light — music of clarity, courage, and rebirth.

The performance of Karl Jenkins’s “Benedictus,” from The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace, is generously sponsored by the Covell and Edwina Foundation.
