"​Andrew Wan has been Concertmaster of the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal since 2008, while pursuing an acclaimed international career as soloist, chamber musician, and recording artist. He has performed with leading orchestras across North America, Europe, and Asia, appearing under conductors including Rafael Payare, Kent Nagano, Maxim Vengerov, Vasily Petrenko, Bernard Labadie, Carlo Rizzi, Peter Oundjian, Xian Zhang, Michael Stern, and James DePreist. A dedicated chamber musician, Wan is a founding member of the New Orford String Quartet, one of Canada’s most acclaimed ensembles, noted for its dynamic performances and award-winning discography. He has also collaborated with the Juilliard Quartet, Vadim Repin, Marc-André Hamelin, Daniil Trifonov, Menahem Pressler, Jörg Widmann, Emanuel Ax, Johannes Moser, Arabella Steinbacher, James Ehnes, and Gil Shaham."

INTRODUCING: cellist Rachel Mercer! "​Describe INTRODUCING: cellist Rachel Mercer! 

"​Described as a “pure chamber musician” (Globe and Mail) creating “moments of pure magic” (Toronto Star), Canadian cellist Rachel Mercer has appeared as a soloist and chamber musician across five continents. Grand prize winner of the 2001 Vriendenkrans Competition in Amsterdam, Rachel is Principal Cello of the National Arts Centre Orchestra in Ottawa and Co-Artistic Director of the “5 at the First” Chamber Music Series in Hamilton. With a first love of chamber music, Rachel regularly collaborates with her longtime duo partner, pianist Angela Park, and was cellist of JUNO award-winning piano quartet Ensemble Made In Canada (2008-2020), the AYR Trio (2010-2020), and the Aviv Quartet (2002-2010). Rachel has given masterclasses across North America, South Africa and in Israel and has given talks on performance, careers and the music business. An advocate for new Canadian music, Rachel has commissioned and premiered works including cello concerti by Stewart Goodyear and Kevin Lau, as well as solo and chamber work by Vivian Fung, Andrew Downing, Alice Ho, Abigail Richardson-Schulte, John Burge and Jocelyn Morlock. Rachel can be heard on the Naxos, Naxos Canadian Classics, Centrediscs, Analekta, Atma, Dalia Classics and EnT-T record labels, and released a critically acclaimed album of the Bach Suites on Pipistrelle in March 2014, recorded on the 1696 Bonjour Stradivarius Cello from the Canada Council for the ArtsMusical Instrument Bank. Rachel plays a 17th-century cello from Northern Italy."

As we prepare to announce our 2026 lineup of concerts and artists two weeks from now, we are excited to give you — our TSM Family — a sneak peek of Mainstage Artists for the 2026 Festival. Can you guess who they might be? Stay tuned for our lineup announcement on February 26 at 6:00 PM!

Photo 1: This world-renowned early music ensemble returns to TSM for the second time with a new production in the brilliant acoustic of Koerner Hall. 

Photo 2: A pianist known for crystalline articulation and long-arc thinking, especially in Classical and early Romantic repertoire. He's been hailed as “One of the most admired pianists of his generation” by the New York Times. 

Photo 3: This harpist is a product of the French conservatory tradition and is known for exceptionally clean articulation and rhythmic drive. He built an international solo career after serving as the principal harp of a major American orchestra.

Photo 4: This pairing is a bel canto dream team, with their most recent album being named one of the top 25 albums of 2025 by the New York Times. Both are internationally active opera singers in major houses with extensive Rossini, Donizetti, and Bellini roles. 

Photo 5: This Canadian pianist was named Gold Laureate at one of the highest-calibre piano competitions, after her performance in chamber repertoire and concerto with orchestra.

Photo 6: This American cellist performs internationally as a soloist and chamber musician and regularly appears with the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center.
