Canadian cellist Tessa Nysetvold is currently pursuing undergraduate studies at the Colburn Conservatory of Music, studying with Clive Greensmith. Tessa made her solo debut at the Jack Singer Concert Hall as a winner of the Rotary Calgary Concerto Competition and has been a frequent recipient of awards at the national level, including being a three-time winner of the Canadian Music Competition.

Tessa has attended the renowned International Musicians Seminar, Prussia Cove, under the guidance of Ralph Kirshbaum, and has performed as a fellow of the Norfolk Chamber Music Festival, Orford Musique Academy, and Meadowmount School of Music under Hans Jørgen Jensen. Tessa has collaborated in performances with Jonathan Brown, former violist of Cuarteto Casals, and Clive Greensmith, former cellist of Tokyo String Quartet, through the Colburn Chamber Music Society, and has worked with additional esteemed artists, including Johannes Moser, Laurence Lesser, and members of the Brentano, Shanghai, Calidore, and New Orford String Quartets.

A graduate of the Advanced Performance Program at Mount Royal Conservatory, she began her musical studies under Beth Root Sandvoss and has worked extensively with John Kadz. Tessa performs on an 1838 Auguste Sébastien Philippe Bernardel cello and a Eugène Sartory bow, generously on loan from Canimex Inc., Drummondville, Quebec, Canada.
