Actor and stage director Stéphane Facco met William Christie and Les Arts Florissants in 2015, working as a performer in ‘Monsieur de Pourceaugnac’ by Molière and Lully, directed by Clément Hervieu-Léger. From the Bouffes du Nord to the Beijing Opera, from Thiré to the Royal Opera of Versailles, they performed together in more than 100 performances. In 2022, William Christie offered him the lead part in Molière et ses musiques presented at the Philharmonie in Paris, Athens and Luxembourg. It was on this project that he met Marie Lambert-Le Bihan, with whom he co-signs the staging here. Stéphane acted under the direction of Clément Hervieu-Léger on plays by Tourgueniev, McCoy and Goldoni. He also worked with Jacques Nichet on plays by D. Fo, Shakespeare, D. Danis, T. Williams at the CDN des Amandiers, La Commune, the National Theatre of Strasbourg and the Gemini. As a director, he notably assisted Célie Pauthe for H. Müller’s Quartett and Laurent Pelly for Barber of Seville at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées. Faccois a founding member of the DRAO collective. With them, he co-directed works by contemporary authors, such as F. Paravidino, J-L. Lagarce, P. Zelenka, L. Barfüss and L. Noren. He is a sought-after performer for various directors such as Francisco Negrin, Mélanie Laurent, Alexandra Badéa, Daniel San Pedro and was seen on stage internationally at the Valencia Opera, the Athénée, at the Bouffes du Nord, at the Théâtre National de la Colline and Chaillot. Recently at the Théâtre Edouard VII in Paris, it is under the direction of Ladislas Chollat that he played a successful and extended run of La Vérité by Florian Zeller, alongside Sylvie Testud, Stéphane de Grood and Clotilde Courau. Another recent project is Solo Arts Martiaux by and with Yan Allegret and Yoshi Oïda. Stéphane Faccois featured in movies directed by A. Garceau, G. Bevernaege, J. Navarro and J-D.Verahaeghe. In preparation: new staging of Dido and Aeneas by H. Purcell planned for May 2026 at the Opéra Sûreyya of Istanbul.
