Dutch mezzo-soprano Stefanie Bruggeling has developed herself in multiple areas. As a singer and creator, she is carving her path in the classical world, excelling in oratorio, opera, modern productions, and her own staged performances.
Currently affiliated with the Dutch National Opera Academy, she performs this season as Celia (La fedeltà premiata) and Der Trommler (Der Kaiser von Atlantis). She has worked with the Residentie Orkest, Orchestra of the 18th Century, and toured with Brahms’s Liebeslieder-Walzer under Klaus Bertisch. Previous roles include Penelope and Ericlea (Il ritorno d’Ulisse in patria), Singer 4 (Transformations), Orlofsky (Die Fledermaus), and the Sorceress (Dido and Aeneas). In 2024, she was a Semi-Finalist in the 78th Concours de Genève.
Stefanie has performed as a soloist on NPO4 with Silbersee’s Stimmung III and appeared internationally at the Tête-à-Tête Festival. Her own productions include The Garden of Forgotten Love, The Upperworld, and the children’s show De Zingkoningin. She has sung at Het Concertgebouw, TivoliVredenburg, Amare, Concordia, and Muziekgebouw.
She has worked with directors Mart van Berckel, Rennik Jan Neggers, and Anja Kühnhold, and conductors such as Antony Hermus, Ed Spanjaard, and Romain Bischoff.
Although focused on classical music, she also has experience as a jazz and pop singer. With a background in music education, she blends improvisation, performance, and discipline, shaping her into an innovative and versatile artist.
