Passionate about chamber music, orchestral playing, and pedagogy, Sam Talebi is a Canadian violinist and violist based in Toronto. He currently studies Violin Performance at the University of Toronto under Mark Fewer, and previously studied at the Royal Conservatory of Music Oscar Peterson School with Kelly-Parkins Lindstrom.

Sam has performed with ensembles such as the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, Toronto Symphony Youth Orchestra, Orchestra Toronto, and the University of Toronto Symphony Orchestra. A former Concertmaster of the A.Y. Jackson Symphony and Chamber Orchestras, he has appeared across Ontario in both chamber and orchestral settings, collaborating with groups such as the Toronto Children’s Choir.

He has performed in masterclasses and received mentorship from distinguished artists including Timothy Chooi, Conrad Chow, Marie Bérard, Mimi Zweig, Min-Jeong Koh, Jonathan Crow, and Marianne Piketty. Sam was involved in the Royal Conservatory of Music Violin Symposium, performing alongside notable musicians and soloists from around the world. He has participated in numerous chamber, solo, and orchestral festivals across Ontario, earning recognition in competitions such as the Ontario Strings Association Festival where he performed as a soloist with orchestra as well as the Kiwanis Music Festival and the Canadian Contemporary Showcase.

Notable venues Sam has performed in include Koerner Hall, Roy Thomson Hall, George Weston Recital Hall, Walter Hall, Mazzoleni Hall, Massey Hall, and the Meridian Arts Centre. Sam performs on a violin crafted by Otto A. Erdesz in the early 1900s.
