Recognized as one of the most inventive and visionary concert presenters of his generation, American conductor Ryan Haskins continues to reshape the traditional symphonic model through immersive programming, interdisciplinary collaboration, and ambitious commissioning initiatives. His performances are marked by clarity, intensity, and a strong sense of musical architecture, bringing both standard repertoire and new work into sharp focus.

Haskins has appeared with ensembles across North America and the United Kingdom, including the London Symphony Orchestra, BBC National Orchestra of Wales, BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, National Chorus of Wales, the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, and The Florida Orchestra. He has held residencies and artistic appointments with leading institutions and maintains an active schedule of guest engagements in major concert halls throughout North America and Europe.

Now in his seventeenth season as Music Director of the Sioux City Symphony Orchestra, Haskins has led a sustained period of artistic growth. Under his leadership, the award-winning orchestra has earned national recognition for adventurous programming and bold, experimental concert presentation. Celebrating its 111th season, the Sioux City Symphony continues to draw audiences and collaborators from across the country, expanding its reach well beyond its home community.

A committed advocate for new music, Haskins has played a central role in major commissioning initiatives throughout North America and works closely with emerging composers nationwide, shaping new works from conception to premiere.

A native of Cleveland, Ohio, he resides in Toronto, Canada.
