Violinist Lauren Conroy, originally from Chicago and now based in New York City, performs solo and ensemble works spanning traditional to modern repertoire. She has been invited to several festivals and residencies including Norfolk New Music Workshop, Bowdoin International Music Festival Fellowship, Avaloch Farm Music Institute, The Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity, Fontainebleau, Madeline Island Chamber Music Dorothy Richard Starling Fellowship. She is a recent graduate of The Juilliard School where she completed her Masters of Music degree studying with Donald Weilerstein and Li Lin.
Lauren graduated from the NYU Gallatin School’s MA Program as a Koppenaal Scholar in spring 2024 with a concentration in Contemporary Concert Music Performance and Access. She was granted the Dean’s Award for Summer Research where she was a resident scholar at The John Cage Trust at Bard College and produced a performance at the NYU Blackbox Theater exploring the artistic intersections of composer John Cage and visual artist Agnes Martin.
Lauren has co-produced and performed on several multi-disciplinary projects including Juilliard’s Future Stages and NYC Ballet’s Choreographic Institute. She is the Artistic Director of the concert series at the Nicholas Roerich Museum in New York City and is a founding member of The Glass Clouds Ensemble whose mission is to amplify the message of New York area environmental leaders through the commissioning and performance of new music. The Ensemble is supported by Chamber Music America, The Presser Foundation, Lower Manhattan Culture Council, Albert Gallatin Founders Fund, and The Juilliard School.
