Pianist Jiarong Li continually seeks opportunities to grow as an artist and maintain sincerity in her music-making. Jiarong will be a Collaborative Piano Fellow at the Yale School of Music starting Fall 2024. She was a collaborative piano fellow at the Music Academy of the West, Bowdoin Music Festival, and served as staff accompanist for the Puerto Piano & Strings International Music Festival in 2023. As Si-Yo Artist and Artist in Residence at Grace Note Farm, she has been featured as a pianist at the Modern Art Meet Chamber Music series at Stride Arts Gallery, Metropolis Ensemble, Piano on Park, Sacred Music at Columbia University, and Music at the Farm at Grace Note Farm Music. Additionally, she was a collaborative pianist for 2023 Concours musical international de Montréal and performed with the winner of the 2023 Concert Artists Guild Competition.
Jiarong is currently pursuing her doctorate at Manhattan School of Music studying with John Forconi, and holds Masters degrees in piano performance from New England Conservatory with Bruce Brubaker and Pei-Shan Lee. She has won prizes at competitions including first prize in the Oxford Philomusica Piano Festival and Summer Academy Competition, the New England Conservatory Honors Competition, the International Music Competition-Best Schubert Performance, the Distinction Award of the Hong Kong-Asia Piano Open Competition, and was a finalist at New England Conservatory Piano Concerto Competition and semi-finalist at the Fou Ts’ong International Concerto Competition.
