South Korean violinist Hyeon Grace Hong is a multifaceted artist who has performed in prestigious concert halls around the world. Since making her recital debut at the Berlin Philharmonie at the age of 14, she has appeared in venues including Walt Disney Concert Hall, Alice Tully Hall, Jordan Hall, Zipper Hall, and the Seoul Arts Center. She has also performed as a soloist with orchestras including the Bucheon Philharmonic, Sun Symphony, and Seoul National University Philharmonic.
Hyeon is a prizewinner of numerous competitions, including the New York International Classic Competition, Vietnam International Competition, Busan Competition, Ewha Kyunghyang Competition, and TBC Music Competition. As a dedicated chamber musician, she has collaborated with distinguished artists such as Clive Greensmith, Wu Han, Fabio Bidini, and Paul Watkins. With her piano trio at the New England Conservatory, she was also awarded a prize at the Boston Chamber Music Competition.
Hyeon has served as concertmaster of orchestras including the Colburn Orchestra, New England Conservatory Philharmonic, Pacific Music Festival Orchestra, Boston Chamber Orchestra, and Seoul National University Philharmonic. Among her notable performances, she led the conductor-less New England Conservatory Chamber Orchestra. She also served as a Resident Artist at Duke University, where she led the Duke Chamber Orchestra.
Hyeon recently completed her Artist Diploma at the Colburn Conservatory under Martin Beaver. She previously studied with Donald Weilerstein at the New England Conservatory and with Kyung-Sun Lee at Seoul National University. She will begin her doctoral studies at Northwestern University in Fall 2026 under Jinjoo Cho.
