Ethan is a Toronto-based horn player and is currently studying at the University of Toronto Faculty of Music.
Born and raised in Toronto, Ethan began his musical journey as a pianist at the age of five. He first picked up the horn in 2017 when he began attending Cardinal Carter Academy for the Arts. In 2023, Ethan was accepted into the University of Toronto Faculty of Music and is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Classical Performance under the tutelage of Nicholas Hartman. Since his acceptance into the program, Ethan has had the opportunity to work with esteemed horn players such as James Sommerville, Neil Deland, and Nadia Côtéé, among many others.
Ethan has experience performing with the University of Toronto Wind Ensemble, University of Toronto Symphony Orchestra, and the Toronto Symphony Youth Orchestra, in which he has been a member for four years. He also has experience playing in both brass and woodwind chamber settings and was formerly involved in a freelance Woodwind Quintet that has received first and second placements at the Kiwanis Music Festival and the OMFA Provincial Finals, respectively, in 2023.
