Eason Hu, eleven years old, is a junior piano student in The Phil and Eli Taylor Performance Academy for Young Artists under Dr. Michael Berkovsky. He started playing piano at the age of six under Coral Solomon-Berkovsky and is currently mentored by her, as well. Eason earned the First Place Award for Primary Piano Concerto and Distinguished Honours at Level 10 at the 2023 OMFA Provincial Finals, and First Place Award for Elementary Piano Concerto at the 2024 OMFA Provincial Finals. He also received the Chopin Trophy at CCC Toronto International Music Festival 2022. He was awarded first prize in numerous competitions, including the Toronto Kiwanis Music Festival, North York Music Festival, Unionville Music Festival, and CCC. Eason also plays violin for which he was the second place winner of CMC 2022 and 2023 in his age group. In his spare time, he likes reading, playing badminton, and collecting Pokemon cards.
