Attila Varga Tóth, born in 1995 in Hungary, began his musical journey as a cellist before turning his focus to classical voice. He earned his degree in 2021 from the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in Budapest. His operatic debut came at the Hungarian State Opera, where he performed the roles of Libertino and Lucano in Monteverdi’s The Coronation of Poppea. As a young tenor with the renowned Purcell Choir, Attila was given a significant opportunity by conductor György Vashegyi to sing the role of Septimus in Handel’s Theodora, alongside soprano Emőke Baráth. In 2022, he participated in the 38th Early Music Days organized by Filharmonia Hungary and the Centre de musique baroque de Versailles (CMBV) in Vác, which led to an invitation to continue his studies in Baroque music at the CMBV in Versailles.

This opportunity allowed him to immerse himself in the rich musical heritage of France and refine his stylistic interpretation within an authentic cultural context. In 2023, he was selected to join the Royal Opera Academy of Versailles, where he worked under the direction of prominent conductors such as Emmanuelle Haïm, Hervé Niquet, Stéphane Fuget, and Victor Jakob. His stage experience includes a growing repertoire: Remendado in Bizet’s Carmen, the tenor solo in Charpentier’s Te Deum, multiple roles (Aeneas, Sorcerer, and Sailor) in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas, the title role in Charpentier’s Actéon, and the tenor solo in Saint-Saëns’s Requiem.
