Aiden Yi-Hung Jeng is a Taiwanese violist known for his expressive artistry and refined musical voice. He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts degree at The Ohio State University, where he studies with Juliet White-Smith as a recipient of the University Fellowship, one of the university’s most prestigious awards.
Jeng earned his Master of Music degree from the Bienen School of Music at Northwestern University as a recipient of the Eckstein Scholarship and a Graduate Student Assistantship, and his Bachelor of Music degree from National Taiwan Normal University. He was awarded the Northwestern University Viola Prize and served as principal viola of the Northwestern University Symphony Orchestra. His primary teachers include Helen Callus, Kuan-Chen Huang, Shih-Hsun Pan, and Weijing Michal of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.
Actively engaged as an orchestral and chamber musician, Jeng has performed with leading ensembles in both Chicago and Ohio. He has appeared with the Civic Orchestra of Chicago and the Northbrook Symphony Orchestra, and is currently a viola section member of the Central Ohio Symphony Orchestra. In addition, he performs with the Springfield Symphony Orchestra, Lima Symphony Orchestra, Worthington Chamber Orchestra, and Newark-Granville Symphony Orchestra.
His summer engagements include appearances at renowned festivals such as the Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival (as a Fellow), the National Repertory Orchestra, VivaViola Hsin-Yun Huang ViolaFest, and the France MusicAlp Festival, where he worked with world- class faculty and fellow artists from across the globe. In the 2025–2026 season, Jeng was a Rutenberg Chamber Music Fellow for Emerging Artists at the University of South Florida.
