Dear friends,

As we conclude our 20th Anniversary Festival, we are reminded that music brings us together and connects us. As always, we could not have done this without you. It is thanks to you that we can offer our programming, support artists, and continue to build and strengthen our TSM family and community. From our electrifying Opening Night and our spectacular Saturday ReGeneration Concerts to our engaging Kids Concerts and our impressive Academy Noon Concerts featuring our Academy Fellows, we have been treated to performances by some of the most fabulous musicians from around the world, with over 15,000 audience members in attendance.

Over the past nine seasons, Jonathan has led Toronto Summer Music to international acclaim. The Festival was recently named one of BBC Music Magazine’s Top Classical Music Festivals in North America. Through his open-hearted leadership and generous spirit, Jonathan has nurtured a community that goes beyond shared musical experiences—it’s become a supportive, inspiring, and deeply connected family. Under Jonathan’s leadership, our Academy has grown into an internationally respected training ground for emerging artists, while our Community Program has evolved into a rare and rewarding opportunity for adult amateur musicians to learn from — and perform alongside — professional musicians.

Thanks to your incredible generosity, we have exceeded our original goal of $65,000, which would be generously matched thanks to the TSM Board of Directors, in partnership with The Whiteside Foundation and Amica Balmoral. We're thrilled to announce that not only did we reach that goal—we surpassed it. Thanks to a generous group of anonymous donors, every additional dollar above $65,000 was also matched. The 2025 Matching Campaign has raised a record-breaking $175,000. This monumental success is a testament to the amazing TSM community. These donations will fuel Festivals to come, ensuring we can continue to bring world-renowned musicians to Toronto, educate the next generation of classical talent, and enrich our community with exceptional musical experiences. From 8:30 am to 6:30 pm on Saturday, August 2, you can hear our Community Program Members and Chamber Music Institute Fellows perform a selection of pieces they have been working on with their mentors this week.
