Korean violinist Ye Jin Yoon is currently a New York-based soloist and chamber musician. In recent months, Yoon performed alongside violinist Hagai Shaham and pianist Christina Dahl in the Starry Night Concert Series.
An accomplished chamber musician, Yoon is currently a part of the Hesper Quartet in the Emerson String Quartet Institute and has been invited to participate in the Great Lakes Chamber Music Festival this summer. Yoon has also been closely mentored by pianist Gilbert Kalish and has appeared recently at the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center Masterclass with Jamie Laredo and Sharon Robinson.
Yoon has previously been invited to Kneisel Hall Chamber Music Festival, Ozawa International Chamber Music Academy and Great Mountains Music Festival. Previous coaches and mentors have included the Brentano, Tokyo, Mendelssohn, Orion, and Escher String Quartets.
Yoon has also served as concertmaster of Yale Philharmonia and the Stony Brook Symphony Orchestra and will be returning to Lucerne Festival Contemporary Orchestra this summer. She has also been a part of the Tongyong Festival Orchestra, the Pyeong Chang Music Festival Orchestra with Maestro Dmitrij Kitajenko, and the Seiji Ozawa Music Academy Opera Orchestra, where she toured all over Japan under the baton of Maestro Seiji Ozawa.
She received a Bachelor of Music degree from the Korea National University of Arts and a Master of Music degree from Yale School of Music, studying with Professor Hyo Kang. She is currently pursuing her doctoral degree with Professor Jennifer Frautschi, Philip Setzer, Arnaud Sussmann, and Hagai Shaham at Stony Brook University.
