Tahirih Vejdani (she/her) is a Tkaronto-based artist of Persian and South Asian heritage. Her artistic practice includes working as an actor, singer, vocal instructor, music director, choral conductor, and arts administrator. Tahirih holds a Bachelor of Music from the University of Regina with a double major in Vocal Performance and Music History. She is currently pursuing a Master’s in Vocal Pedagogy through the University of Wales Trinity Saint David.
Tahirih has performed with numerous choirs including The Nathaniel Dett Chorale, The Elmer Iseler Singers, Sing! Festival Singers, and the BlackCreek Festival Chorus. As a conductor she has worked with The Regent Park School of Music, Echo Women’s Choir, Toronto World Unity Choir, Florivox Choir and Univox Choir. Tahirih is also a vocal instructor at Sheridan’s Bachelor of Musical Theatre program.
As a performer she has appeared in: The Invisible – Agents of Ungentlemanly Warfare (Catalyst Theatre); HMS Pinafore, Treasure Island, The Pirates of Penzance, Elektra (Stratford Shakespeare Festival); Portia’s Julius Caesar (Shakespeare in the Ruff); The Men in White(Factory Theatre); Taming of the Shrew (Driftwood Theatre); Much Ado About Nothing(Tarragon Theatre); The Jungle Book (Young Peoples Theatre/Cleveland Playhouse Square); The Hobbit, Shrek The Musical, Honk!
