Rebecca Weger grew up in Regina, starting the violin at age four under the tutelage of Rudolf Sternadel at the Conservatory of Performing Arts. In 2020 she completed her undergraduate at McGill University’s Schulich School of Music in the studio of Andrew Wan.
She currently studies at the Yale School of Music with Hyo Kang. Rebecca was a member of the Regina Symphony Orchestra for four seasons, playing her debut concert at the age of thirteen. As winner of their Recital Competition, Rebecca presented a recital with the Regina Musical Club in 2018. She has placed second at the Shurniak Concerto Competition, and was awarded third prize at the 2019 Shean Strings Competition.
She has participated in summer programs such as the National Arts Centre’s Young Artists Program, Colorado College Summer Music Festival, Aspen Music Festival’s Center for Advanced Quartet Studies, as well as the McGill International String Quartet Academy.
