Rebecca Golub

Hometown: Huntington, New York 

Rebecca Golub is a collaborative pianist and vocal coach based in Rochester, NY. She is currently an adjunct professor at the Rochester Institute of Technology, where her responsibilities include teaching private piano students and serving as rehearsal and performance pianist for the university choir. As of spring 2023, she holds a DMA in Piano Accompanying and Chamber Music and a minor in Vocal Coaching from the Eastman School of Music, where she studied with Dr. Andrew Harley. 

During her studies, Rebecca received the Barbara M.H. Koeng Award in 2022 which honors collaborative pianists with a passion and gift for vocal accompanying, the Excellence in Accompanying Award in 2020, and was a finalist in the Jessie Kneisel German Lieder competition in 2021. A devoted academic as well as performer, Rebecca was inducted into the Pi Kappa Lambda National Music Honor Society in 2017. 

As an opera pianist, Rebecca has served as repetiteur for productions at Eastman and the University of Colorado-Boulder. Additionally, in summer 2022 she served as one of four collaborative piano fellows for an opera training program in Germany. Over the years, she has had the privilege to work with esteemed artists at festivals including Graham Johnson, Malcolm Martineau, Jean Barr, Margo Garrett, Warren Jones, Alan Smith, Renée Fleming, Jake Heggie, and Libby Larsen. 

Rebecca completed her MM in Collaborative Piano from CU Boulder and BM from Eastman. She is excited to join the opera faculty at the Fairbanks Summer Arts Festival later this summer as vocal coach and collaborative pianist.
