Joanna Kellam (she/her) is an artist, musician, and arts educator living and working in Toronto (Tkarón:to, the traditional territory of many nations including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples and is now home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples). Growing up in Kingston, Joanna’s favourite arts exploits were living room dance recitals, Spice Girl lip syncs, singing and touring with Cantabile Choirs of Kingston, community theatre, and competing in high school improv competitions.

Since graduating from Randolph College for the Performing Arts’ Musical Theatre Performance Program, Joanna has worked as an actor, singer, producer, and theatre designer. In 2010, she joined the not-for-profit, Scribble Me Silly – Art For Kids, as Director of Programming. In this position, she develops and facilitates programs that teach children creative self-expression through music and art. Joanna is the proud creator of Musical Hangouts which enjoyed two seasons at Solar Stage. Joanna can be found teaching students with Annex Children’s Theatre in Education, Rainbow Songs, and as a vocal coach for private students.

Joanna has enjoyed creative directing and hosting classical kids’ concerts since 2015, with Mooredale’s Music & Truffles, Prince Edward County Chamber Music Festival, and she is thrilled to be back for another season with Toronto Summer Music Festival.

Joanna believes that through music we can find our true voices and have confidence in sharing them.
