Jeremy Lap Hei Hao

Hometown: Hong Kong

Born in Hong Kong, violinist Jeremy Lap Hei Hao is a strong believer in the communicative power of music and seeks to engage with communities in renowned venues including Carnegie Hall and Alice Tully Hall, as well as in living rooms and factories.

Recent performance highlights include debut performances at the Jockey Club Musicus Heritage Alive Concert series in Hong Kong. Jeremy also performed at the Thy Chamber Music Festival in Denmark and at the Taipei Music Academy & Festival in San Francisco this past summer.

As an avid chamber musician, he has participated in festivals including the Taos School of Music, Kneisel Hall Chamber Music Festival, Juilliard’s ChamberFest and the New York String Orchestra Seminar, where he worked with members of esteemed string quartets including the Borromeo, Brentano and Shanghai String Quartets. Jeremy was also a member of the Zhubert Trio which was formed in 2018 where he worked extensively on piano trios with respected pianists Joseph Kalichstein, Jerome Lowenthal and Robert McDonald, violinists Daniel Phillips and Laurie Smukler.

Having completed his Master of Music degree at The Juilliard School with Laurie Smukler, he is currently completing his studies at the Yale School of Music with Syoko Aki and Ani Kavafian. In his free time, Jeremy enjoys hiking, cooking and boardgames.
