Hometown: Seoul, South Korea

Soprano Gayeon Lee is from South Korea and currently graduated Master of Music at the New England Conservatory. She was a district winner at the Laffont Competition (The Metropolitan Opera) in Kansas City (2023) and a winner of an Encouragement Award at The Gerda Lissner Song Competition (2022). She participated as a Professional Fellow at Songfest (2022) and will be an Art of Song Fellow at Toronto Summer Music (2023). She performed at Jake Heggie’s Concert (2022) and at Boston Symphony Orchestra Prelude Program with Anthony Davis (2023). She has played roles such as Amor in L’arbore di Diana (2023), First Witch in Dido and Aeneas (2022), Adina in the L’elisir d’amore (2018), Zerlina in Don Giovanni (2017). 

She is particularly passionate about interpreting art songs and can sing pieces from all eras, such as early music and new music. Since she has performed a wide variety of songs, such as Liederabend, she has excelled in both song and opera. She studied with Lisa Saffer and Lorraine Nubar.
