Filipino-Canadian baritone Danlie Rae Acebuque completed his Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance and currently on his 2nd year of Masters in Opera at the University of Toronto under the tutelage of Frédérique Vézina.
He was the recent W. Earl Goodchild Opera Scholarship recipient. He debuted his first opera roles as Fiorello in Barber of Seville (Opera5) and Guglielmo (SOLT)) in 2018.
In 2019, he played the roles of Billy in Rise and Fall of The City of Mahagonny (Voicebox: Opera in Concert), his first title role debut as Gianni Schicchi (SOLT), Don Iñigo Gomez in L’heure Espagnole, The Broken Clock and Black Cat in L’enfant et les Sortilege (Voicebox: Opera in Concert), Antonio in Le Nozze di Figaro and in 2021, he debuted the role of Escamillo in La Tragedie de Carmen (U of T Opera). Danlie is also one of the Sidgwick Scholars for Orpheus Choir of Toronto.
